Californian Wonder seeds produce what is really the traditional Bell Pepper with fruit growing to 4 inches and turning red from green when mature. These are also probably the largest open pollinated heirloom peppers you can grow. Once they have made it to about 6” in height you can transfer the seedlings to small pots or as soon as they have 2 true leaves.
The Californian Wonder plant will grow to around 30 inches, or just over 70 cm either in your greenhouse or on a sunny windowsill, poly tunnel etc. We believe that if growing these peppers outside these normally prolific plants will result in a dramatic loss of fruiting – depending where you live of course.
We notice that lots of seed merchants state that plants can be grown in the garden or on a patio and we agree that they can, but try that in the middle of Derbyshire or anywhere north of here and you will find that your crop is very much reduced indeed.
