Don't be alarmed if some of the flowers off your chilli plant(s). They will most probably turn a sickly shade of yellow before dropping, and this can be due to a number of factors:-
1) The room they are in lacks the necessary humidity which is difficult to replicate in this country - for example places Assam in India and the Caribbean countries have heavy rainfalls + the natural heat there which contribute to high humidity levels.
2) Over watering is one of the main problems and it is very difficult to adjust this to get the correct, even if you have one of the prong guages which garden centres sell. I have one and it is a waste of space!
3) If you have a chilli plant which is very prolific such as the Hot Mexican (https://artsgardenideas.co.uk/chillies/growing_hot_mexican_chillies.php) with literally hundreds of flowers about to form then you will notice that a great many of them will off before flowers form. Compare that to a Black Knight chilli plant (https://artsgardenideas.co.uk/chillies/growing_black_knight_chilli_peppers.php) which grows massive fruit but much fewer of them and you will see that very few Black Knight flowers off.
I put the above partly down to the "Apple Tree Effect." Apple trees regularly shed small fruit because the tree knows that it can't sustain all the growth on the tree, and that is similar to chilli plants shedding their flowers for the same reason. In my opinion overwatering is the other main reason for this happening.
